“We dont just play shows, we turn moshpits into dancefloors“
HUE is a Washington, DC–based rock band forged in the DMV music scene, where opposites collide and something new takes shape. Blending go-go, pop-punk, djent, R&B, and trap, their sound lives in the overlap—like a Venn diagram of cultures and genres—bringing together crushing riffs, ambitious vocals, and aggressive, groove-driven drums into a sharp, structured identity.
Formed by longtime collaborators Alireza and Halluciniinja and later joined by drummer AreJay (formerly a touring member of RDGLDGRN), HUE built their foundation through years of live performance and festival experience. Their dynamic stage presence has earned them major opportunities, including opening for Three 6 Mafia in Washington, DC and Erykah Badu in New York, as well as being photographed by Rolling Stone during Afropunk Brooklyn. They’ve also performed at NAMM, toured with letlive., and expanded their musical range through orchestral performances under André Leonard.
Drawing influence from boundary-pushing acts like Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Bad Brains, Turnstile, and Reaction Band, HUE represents a new wave of genre-defying music rooted in the DMV’s go-go legacy while pushing into heavy, modern territory.
With the release of their debut single “Home” setting the tone and a sold out show at The GoGo Museum on the horizon, HUE is now preparing to drop their upcoming EP Highly Under Estimated—a project that captures their raw energy, cultural fusion, and unmistakable sound. The momentum is building, and HUE is only getting started.
